Nurturing Young talents in Kenya: Talent Splash giving support to young talents at Wynton House of Music and Pamoja Kids
Who Is Wynton House of Music and Pamoja Kids
Wynton House of Music draws its name from Wynton Marsalis, described as one of the outstanding jazz musicians and trumpeters of his generation. The realization that there was a demand for instruction in music, coupled with the fact that there was a limited number of institutions offering training in music led to the founding of Wynton House of Music.
Wynton opened its doors to the public in March 2001, initially offering instruction in playing the recorder, piano, and guitar in addition to music theory and voice training. Wynton’s vision is to found a music academy where students will take music instruction as a full-time endeavor.
Pamoja kids was conceptualized by a group of mothers who believe in children's talents and capacity. It is their firm belief that children and young people in our society should be given opportunities to explore their full potential, not only academically but talent-wise too. This belief led to the birth of Pamoja Kids. Which acts as the performing and also as an outreach to talented children and youth.

Nurturing Young Talents in Kenya: Talent Splash events by Wynton House of Music and Pamoja Kids
Talent Splash – Talent Competition
The Talent Splash Show was spawned by the desire to give children from different backgrounds a stage to express themselves and empower them through music. Our offering will be a truly unique product and a great opportunity in communicating with children and those who have the responsibility of bringing them up.
Objectives of The Pamoja Talent Splash Show
The key objective of The Pamoja's Talent Splash Show is to showcase individual talent found among Kenyan youth with a view to help nurture the formation and use of these gifts in everyday life. It is anticipated that the spirit of competition will not only bring out the best in the children, but will also encourage hard work, discipline and guidance of their energy towards the creative fields. In the process, there will be many things to celebrate about our young ones and there will be every possibility that many of them will find their true calling and enjoy the opportunities that come with them.
- generating future talent by capitalising on young people especially from the marginalised areas of our society;
- opening opportunities for children from poor backgrounds and most left out especially the handicapped children to express themselves;
- providing opportunities for gifted children by giving them a stage to express their
personalities;
- closing the generation gap between children and parents;
- educating the public at large on the benefits of promoting creative artistic skills in
children and youth, with the possible goal of jobs creation, and a conducive learning
environment in which they can occupy their time in creative ways;
- creating a social element among youth, locally and internationally;
- producing positive role models for the younger generations;
- teaching children positive values to emulate those who have done much for their families;
- creating talent cell groups within different counties.
Pamoja’s Talent Pool:
The identified talents will be developed through
- Training offered in collaboration with Wynton House of Music
- Participating in concerts
-Exposing them through cultural exchanges with other Organisations sharing our beliefs from other countries
- Through forums for young people where they can exchange ideas
- Parents and guardians forum where they can constantly participate in sharing ideas to enrich the programs.
The benefits of Talent Splash will be:-
• Show that our children have immense talent
• Provide meaningful entertainment for children and members of the public
• Open doors of opportunity for children in the performing arts
• Promote knowledge in the performing arts;
• Provide knowledge and give the children an opportunity on issues that affect the Kenyan child today;
• Get children to learn about causes and encourage them to pick up one they can associate with and act positively about such causes.
